What is this?

The Parts Cost Index is the sum of the prices of 35 commonly used parts in the Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Fuel trades. It is the total amount a contractor would pay if they purchased one of each item on the list during the period being reported on.

How do I use this?

Use the Parts Cost Index as an indicator of changes in price for parts you are paying from your suppliers. As prices increase, it is recommended you update you QSP Guide to ensure you maintain desirable margins.
